We offer free individualized referrals to over 800 local child care homes, centers, preschools, and before-and-after school programs. These referrals are free to the public and include a criteria-based computer search, parent counseling, information on child care regulations, and a "Choosing High Quality Child Care" checklist which is linked below. - Parent Feedback Form

A checklist for parents that lists the things to look for when you're searching for childcare. Print it out and take it with you when you visit homes and centers. - Selecting and Monitoring Child Care
A booklet that contains pages of information on how to find and maintain great childcare. Some of the topics include "Interviewing the Provider" and "Parent-Provider Partnership". This file is in pdf format which you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open. You can download Acrobat for free from the Adobe website here. -
Inspection Reports for Regulated Child Care
This link will take you to the website of the Virginia Department of Social Services, which lists licensed homes, centers and preschools. You can search for a specific program and pull up a copy of their inspection reports, including any complaints and violations. -
